That looks like a challenging course. Wonder how I’d fare on that one. Maybe time to take a trip to Myrtle Beach? 🤔
Just booked my tee time for Pine Lakes! Beyond excited to play!
Restaurant food is surprisingly good, try the burger!
It’s in my top 10 of best golf courses.
Does anyone know if they offer club rentals?
Honestly, nothing compares to the greens here. It’s a historical gem!
Great post! Really highlights what makes Pine Lakes unique.
Will never get tired of those fairways! Beats every course in town, hands down.
Looking forward to my upcoming golf weekend at Pine Lakes!
A round at Pine Lakes is always a day well spent.
Definitely adding this to my list of courses to play.
Gorgeous course! Any tips for a beginner playing Pine Lakes?
I’ve heard great things about the golf instructors at Pine Lakes, can anyone share their experiences?
I played here last summer and can’t wait to go back.
Renovation by Craig Schrenier has really elevated this Old World charm!
Wonderful courses, will be coming back soon for sure.
Any tips on how to handle the par 3s? They’re my achilles heel. Great post by the way!
Robert White was such an innovator in golf course design.
Great review of Pine Lakes. I had the chance to play on this course last summer and I would rate it 10/10. Though course can be quite challenging for beginners, it’s definitely worth the try. Anyone knows if they offer pro lessons? Love to level up my skills the next time I visit.
The SeaDwarf Paspalum grass is a game changer!
Visiting the Myrtle Beach Hall of Fame was an unexpected highlight of my last visit!
Pine Lakes…the name itself reeks of golf tradition! A must-play for enthusiasts.
Last time I golfed at ‘The Grandaddy’, I lost 3 balls on the 7th hole. Still a beautiful course though!
Pine Lakes brings back so many great memories. It’s my go-to course whenever I’m in Myrtle Beach.
Well, isn’t Pine Lakes a sight for sore eyes! These pics sent me down memory lane to when I aced the 7th hole. I would give anything to play the ‘Granddaddy’ again. Just a little friendly advice though, watch out for the water hazard at the 10th. It’s a sneaky one!
I’ve always wondered – why is it nicknamed ‘The Grandaddy’?
Looking forward to attending the PGA tournament here next year.
Just checked this place out. Amazing course, folks.
Ah, ‘The Grandaddy’ brings back memories! Used to play there a lot when I lived in South Carolina. Cool photos.
Same! Those were the good old days. And yeah, the photos are tempting me for a revisit.
If you haven’t played Pine Lakes, you haven’t done Myrtle Beach right.
Absolutely agree, it’s a must-play course. ‘The Grandaddy’ truly stands up to its nickname.
What’s the average pace of play here?
Great review! I’m guessing that the renovation in ’08 helped refresh the design? It must be quite something to play on a course designed by the first president of PGA.
Indeed, ’08 renovations breathed new life into it. It’s a great mix of original charm and modern touches.
